The Soloist is designed for the week-in, week-out rider and racer who can only justify one high-performance bike. It balances light weight and aerodynamic advantages to deliver a bike that is truly 'just right'.
The Soloist name is familiar to anyone with bike racing memories extending back to the early-2000s. It was the weapon of choice for top World Tour contenders on CSC and the Cervelo Test Team, and Cervelo is bringing it back for a new generation. This race bike can accommodate mechanical and electronic shifting, can handle training miles in all weather, and still has the ability to leap off the front at that decisive moment.
The Soloist sits right between the S5 and R5 on the performance scale. It is slightly lighter than the S5 but significantly more aerodynamic than the R5. It is about 250g heavier than the R5 and 250g lighter than the S5, making it the ideal compromise for riders seeking a smart, intentional balance of speed and weight.
The handling geometry for the Soloist is taken directly from the R5, which is beloved by pros and amateurs alike for its poise, stability, and precision, especially on descents. The Soloist benefits from Cervelo's decades of race bike geometry development, ensuring it is ready to go immediately.
The cable routing is inside the frame for aerodynamics but does not go through the stem. Cervelo developed a system that threads the cables under the stem but through the bearing cap. This means that if your position changes or you loan the bike to a friend who uses a different stem length, you will not need to bleed the brakes to swap the stem.
